Small mom and pop shop that literally looks like someone's living room/kitchen. There is no parking lot available so only street parking. We ordered Shan noodle recommended by the nice lady owner. I asked her to not add peanuts in there as the dish comes w peanuts but unfortunately they forgot. She was apologetic and so nice about it. Then we also go the beef curry and curry fish both had the same sauce which had a little bit of spice but not too overwhelming. Perfect! They were so nice and talked to almost every customer. The people next to us travelled 30 mins just to eat here! She even gave us complimentary coconut jelly dessert to end our meal.

The beef curry is really good. Highly recommend it with naan . Watercress ongchoy chinyayhin is very refreshing but a bit spicy. Fried tofu makes a good appetizer and soft tofu mix is really good

My 2nd time here, both times I brought a friend and we were not disappointed. I've had Burmese food several times but this place is a special experience. Take the owner's recommendations and she will take care to make sure you enjoy your meal and teach you about the cuisine as well, if you like. The fusion of flavors in Burmese foods is refreshing and each one of our dishes had a different flavor profile. The restaurant is simple and homey, which is an ambiance I crave in a city saturated with the latest trends and corporate chains. My first time having Burmese food and this place did not disappoint. Tea Leaf Salad - light, refreshing and super flavorful with a nice crunch from the nuts Mo Hin Ga Fish Soup - nice, savoury, garlick-y flavor. According to Google catfish is commonly used. They also add fried bits on a separate plate that you can add to the soup and noodle which. Like the tea salad also have a nice crunch. Shan Noodles - it has a nice light broth/ flavor Burmese milk tea (hot) - if you like milk tea in general this is pretty good! A little on the sweet side for my taste but ita definitely still a comforting drink. Coconut Jelly desert - they gave this to us for free! Very similar to Thai and Vietnamese versions. I'll honestly order all these dishes again and also want to try the rest of their menu!! Service: you can definitely tell it's authentic because they barely speak English but they are very very helpful and they excitedly tried to explain each dish and how to eat it when we told them it's our first time.

This place is probably one of the best restaurants I've been to, and that is not an exaggeration! We ordered everything the owner recommended: the samusas, the tea leaf salad, the shan noodles, and the goat curry. We also got the garlic noodles and thai ice tea. The samusas were crispy and nice and hot. The shan noodles were one of my favorites and were very flavorful. The goat curry was cooked perfectly and was so tender. It also was not overly gamey. The tea leaf salad was also one of my favorites, and I would get it again. It was crunchy and fresh. The garlic noodles were also very delicious. We got complimentary rice, which I find is a rarity these days! We also got a complimentary coconut jelly dessert, which rounded out our meal. The biggest highlight was the service. The owner lady treated us like we were family and even served us to make sure we each got an equal portion. She also served the thai tea after we ate the tea leaf salad because having them together could upset our stomachs. This is a true gem of the 626, and now a favorite! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Recommended by my friend's mom who grew up in Burma, so you know it's good! When we got there, the owner was friendly and it felt like a casual cozy home style vibe. She was so sweet. We asked for her recommendations and got all of them! She treated us like family, gave us great recommendations, and helped us mix the noodles at the table and taught us how to eat everything for the best experience since it was our first time trying Burmese food. She also was so thoughtful about how Thai tea and tea leaf salad need to be separated by food to avoid stomach aches. The Shan noodles, goat curry, tea leaf salad, and samusas were all so delicious! The Shan noodles had a great texture and bounce with a delicious blend of smoky and aromatic flavors. The goat curry was the first goat curry I've ever really liked. It was so well seasoned I got a second helping. The tea leaf salad was so good with crispy crunchy bits along with peanuts. It reminds me of papaya salad but with a less sweet and more umami flavor. Don't even get me started on the samusas! The sweet and sour sauce, the perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside texture, and curry potato filling really hit the spot. So good. To top it all off, she gave us a complimentary coconut jelly dessert that was not too sweet! We were the only ones at the restaurant at this time, so we got to chat with the owner and turns out this restaurant has been going for 18 years! We had a great time at this mom and pop shop and would definitely love to come back.

A mom and pop stop- a small restaurant with about 10 tables and I love the flavors here. The samusa is light, crisp with just the tempting flavors of pepper, turmeric, garlic and potato. I didn't think I would like it but I've ordered this about 6 times already. The salad with tea leaves, peanuts and tomatoes was very good, not the best I've had, still very good. The beef curry is subtle with flavors of coconut, anise, turmeric ..... it's so homey good you think a local mama or papa is cooking for you. And I don't eat a lot of beef. One of the few exceptions would be here. Service is not as brisk as one might expect as it's a husband and wife run family business --be prepared. It is a quiet resto for now and I expect it to be busier as people discover dishes here. I would come back again to Yoma when the cravings light up. End of Yelp.

Wow! Blown away by this tiny family run business. The service is top notch imo. We ordered 5+ dishes and the dishes came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering. Loved exploring a lesser known Asian cuisine and supporting small business. The samosas weee crispy on the outside and seasoned perfectly and soft in the inside. What a great portion size for the order too! We also tried the coconut noodle and a noodle with tofu. The coconut noodle was too heavy for us but we loved the tofu noodle! Tea leaves are a must. The Asian woman running this restaurant is so sweet and will help answer your questions about her culture's cuisine. Plenty of food and very reasonably priced!

Been wanting to try this hole-in-the-wall because I've been craving Burmese food. Tea leaf salad was great--perfect blend of salty, fishy, and the popped corn and nuts added a pleasant crunch. Fried samusa was made to be eaten with the sauce they provide. The outside layer is thin and very crispy, like an egg roll. The curry inside was not too spicy, but the sauce elevates the spice level. Mohinga portion size is perfect but I enjoyed it more with extra lemon. I wish it had more of the puffy crispy sheets but regardless I still enjoyed it. Service was attentive and friendly.
